A First Observation Wave
46 included named main-dish prices from 46 exact branches, collected October 12–22, 2026. Six additional observations are excluded from comparisons and retained below. We reviewed price evidence within an 80-branch research cohort; missing prices were not filled in.
These are selected food-item prices, not city averages, full brunch bills, affordability rankings or a measure of inflation. Dishes, portions and city samples differ. Drinks, tax, gratuities and required charges can add cost.

Methodology And Limitations
- Research Population
- A purposive selection of previously researched restaurant branches across five priority city regions, including nearby suburbs explicitly identified by address.
- Observation Unit
- One preselected, named, individually plated breakfast/brunch main per exact branch. This is not a restaurant menu average and not the cheapest dish.
- Selection And Exclusions
- Reuse the food examples already chosen for consumer decision guides; no automatic lowest-price selection. Exclude shared/small plates, partial portions, ordering-only prices and explicitly older printed menus.
- Calculation
- For each city region, sort included food-only prices and take the middle value; for an even sample take the mean of the two middle values. Report the range and exact branch count. Every branch has equal weight.
- Comparability
- Dishes, portion sizes, accompaniments, neighborhoods, service days and venue formats differ. City samples are unequal and non-random. Do not rank city affordability from this release.
- Charges
- Published menu food prices exclude drinks, taxes, gratuities and other charges unless explicitly stated. Charge conditions remain beside each observation; they are not normalized into the median.
- Time Series
- This is the first observation wave. No inflation rate, price change, trend direction or numeric base-100 series is claimed. Repeat the same exact branch and dish before measuring a later change.
- Missing Data
- Missing prices remain missing; a zero price is never imputed. A source collection date is not the restaurant menu publication date or an assurance of today’s availability.
- Geography
- City labels describe editorial regions. Each exact address and neighborhood is retained; LA includes separate municipalities, and Miami includes Hollywood and Miami Lakes.
- Rights
- Publish factual observations and original analysis; link to the official menus rather than republishing complete menu pages or photographs.
- Corrections
- Use /contact/ with the observation ID and official source. Retain superseded records and state an actual correction date.
- Next Release
- Review source availability before a new release. Recheck volatile charges and menu changes; collect repeat observations with a new date. Do not silently refresh the original collection timestamp.
