TOP BRUNCH SPOTS RESEARCH · Cross-Sectional Snapshot

Brunch Trends Report

What the collected menu and planning evidence shows, with category counts and clear limits on trend interpretation.

A Cross-Sectional Baseline, Not A Measure Of Growing Consumer Demand

The analysis uses 46 included example dishes from the Price Index and the collected planning notes. It measures this evidence snapshot, not consumer popularity, orders, sales or change over time.

What The Source Evidence Shows

Different Food Formats Need Different Price Comparisons

The 46 included examples span sweet breakfast mains, savory plates, sandwiches, wraps, burritos, avocado toast and Benedicts. The category counts describe the selected example dishes, not menu shares, popularity or consumer orders.

The Printed Price And The Dining Bill Are Different

Collected source notes include all-table service charges, party-size gratuities and removable surcharges. The same menu price can lead to different pre-tax costs. The Price Index retains those terms rather than silently combining them.

Breakfast, Brunch And General Opening Hours Are Different

The source-linked profiles distinguish dedicated brunch services from daily breakfast and later restaurant opening hours. A restaurant remaining open into the evening does not extend the brunch menu.

The Next Wave Can Test Change

Repeat the same branch and exact dish, record portion or recipe changes, and compare like-for-like dates before describing a price increase or a new menu trend.

How To Interpret This Report

Classify the single preselected dish at each included branch by its food format. Count categories and retain the Price Index’s original dates and exclusions. Multiple dishes on a menu are not additional observations. Categorization is an editorial coding decision; the downloadable snapshot permits inspection.

  • The sample was selected for editorial needs, not a restaurant or consumer probability sample.
  • No sales volumes, survey responses, search-demand changes, reservation behavior or dish popularity were measured.
  • A single cross-section cannot establish an emerging trend, growth rate or cause.

A future trends report needs repeat comparable collection, new concept announcements or actual authorized survey or sales data. The first release deliberately makes no claim that any format is growing.
